There are a number of student led ensembles that form during the year and practice outside of normal school hours. Most years there are ensembles for brass, flute, saxophone, clarinet and percussion. The groups usually perform at the annual Solo and Ensemble Contest held in the spring. Some ensembles also choose to play at other events for fun. These often include playing prior to MHS play performances, at local Senior housing or even Ridgedale Mall.
