nc.wreath1077x419Music Department Wreath Sale. Band Students can fundraise for future travel study trips by selling greenery during the annual Music Department Wreath Sale. All wreaths, garlands and swags are of the highest quality and are made of fresh balsam fir or cedar by North Country Wreaths in Duluth. Completed orders with payment are due October 25th. To view or print out the order form click here. And you can find the information sheet here.

Greenery will be delivered to MHS for pickup November 17-18. Sign up to help with unloading and distribution with this SignUpGenius link.

A 4-color sales flyer depicting some of the items can be found here. Please note that this flyer only shows the basic balsam items offered — our music department actually purchases additional premium-grade items which are made with a mixture of balsam fir, cedar and pine. You should refer to the order form for the exact selection of items being sold. For example, the arch and swag will be made with mixed greenery, not just balsam. The garland, balsam wreath and mailbox swag will be made as shown on the sales flyer. The mixed or all-cedar wreaths are not shown on the sales flyer.

MUSIC MAKES A DIFFERENCE! And the Minnetonka Band Boosters are dedicated to the support and promotion of the entire band program in their pursuit of musical excellence at Minnetonka High School.

The boosters provide a wide variety of much needed services.

Money we raise is used to hire guest artists, bands, conductors and instructors; it purchases music, instruments and equipment; and it provides scholarships for all-state students, travel study participants, marching band campers and more.

We produce printed and online promotional materials. We help out at concerts, competitions, football games and parades – with everything from maintaining uniforms to hauling equipment to providing refreshments. We also organize banquets and other social events.

Our meetings are held from late summer through the school year. Come help us plan and organize another exciting year for our students! Click here to download the membership form.

Small Ensembles

Standard

There are a number of student led ensembles that form during the year and practice outside of normal school hours. Most years there are ensembles for brass, flute, saxophone, clarinet and percussion. The groups usually perform at the annual Solo and Ensemble Contest held in the spring. Some ensembles also choose to play at other events for fun. These often include playing prior to MHS play performances, at local Senior housing or even Ridgedale Mall. If you have an interest in playing in a smaller ensemble, contact Mr. Mortensen for more information.

Jazz Bands at Minnetonka

Standard

Minnetonka High School offers participation in two extra curricular jazz ensembles, Jazz Ensemble and Jazz Too! Both groups rehearse after school during the school year. Auditions for both groups are held in the fall.  Contact either Mr. Mortensen or Mr. Rosen with questions.
